Ok… how could you not be happy when its snowing…

‘Tis an amazing day in Columbus… we finally have snow and it seems winter is finally here. Usually my birthday ushers it in, but I’ll take what I can get when we have 60° weather in January. [And for anyone who is about to reply with some sort of condescending remark about cold, snow, or winter… just go away.]

I have had a couple of very interesting surprises lately. I’ve apparently been adopted at the age of 22. While this idea didn’t come about at the happiest of moments, its really nice to know that an entire family (without knowing me very well) can trust me and be accepting of my faults enough to introduce me to friends and family as their adopted son. The other pleasant surprise is that my previous “romantic” situation has more than flipped on me [don’t read into this, I can promise none of you would be able to figure out what that means]. While I’m somewhat troubled and conflicted about the whole thing, I’m gunna just go with it until I can’t [again… sorry, but you can’t fully understand the meaning of that one either]. As Keith said… only I could go from what was to what is (paraphrasing… sorry Keith, but you don’t have the ability to obscure and evade reality like I do).

My situation with March is nearly completely unchanged which leaves my life somewhat in limbo, but I think I’ll not let that dilute my temporary state of happiness (but lets hope that its not temporary).

“Where do we go from here?”

In the last couple days that question has presented some interesting implications as a close friend of mine was presented with the mortal condition of humanity on Sunday. If you pray, please keep my friend and his family in your prayers as they’ve just lost an amazing family member. If you don’t pray, at least keep them in your thoughts.

I had more, but I’m somewhat depressed and very confused tonight. Sweet dreams.

Music what?

I’ve had my new mp3 player for 2 weeks now (give or take). I’ve discovered 2 things… my taste in music is quite diverse and most of the music that I have in my collection is decidedly not in my taste of music. Also, I’m not really sure how I lived without such a device before… its quite a revelation if I do say so.

There’s something in the air…

and its probably not a good thing.

Quite possibly the funniest thing I’ve heard in weeks was a sick joke about my own life. Is it possible for me to just live my life without some sort of terrible drama mucking it up? Ask me in a few years, I’ll let you know. Seriously… I managed to clean up most of my messes and pick up the pieces from everything thats happened (save a few small ones that made it into the corners) and my life has to explode again. I must have pissed God off more than most people… I of course don’t subscribe to this idea, but theres a line in a movie that describes God as a child with a magnifying glass and man kind is just an anthill… at the moment that makes me chuckle.

Happy New Years everyone

I have no voice today, but I’m not hung over… which is amazing. Best New Year’s I’ve ever had… by far.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !
And surely I’ll be mine !
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pou’d the gowans fine ;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,
sin’ auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae paidl’d in the burn,
frae morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin’ auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere !
And gies a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll tak a right gude-willie-waught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
