Is it me?

Quakecon is amazing fun. Its a lot smaller and things are missing from last year but its still a lot of fun. I’m not coming home with nearly as many shirts though. Two days left… hopefully on Sunday I’ll be able to see my cousins too.

The first day here sucked a lot. Chris said he would keep up with my driving, so on our way to Fry’s I gunned it around a semi and cut over to an exit pretty quick and completely lost him. I sat at the end of the ramp and called him. Of course I was expecting to get some sort of asshole comment (which I did deserve), but the little bastard hung up on me and called Tim. I wasn’t happy… and then I got “called from one of my CPLs”… aparently Brian used my laptop (which I have my AIM passwords cached on) to try and get my clan’s ventrilo password. WTF. I wasn’t happy. After everyone got over that everything was good. Brian gets pissed over everything and I’m getting used to him now. Usually I don’t have to spend a lot of time around him so… Last night Tim, Dave and I used blow up bats to beat the crap out of eachother… that was fun.

… I’m not very bright sometimes.

So my engine got exceptionally hot tonight (didn’t over heat but just the same I was concerned). So what do I do? I go see if my reservoir is low… just after I turned the engine off. I loosened the cap and quite a bit of steam came out… to be expected… I took the cap all the way off and a freaking geyser of boiling hot water comes spewing from my engine like Old Faithful. This massive steam which could only go strait up caught me in the forehead and now my forehead is scalded. BTW: this is all at 3am… way to go Adam.

HAPPY DANCE!! “It makes me sad only one person knows about that and they never read this.”

If you read this… please don’t be snide… you know its true.

“Hey Kettle.”
“Yes Pot?”
“You’re looking very black today.”
“…”

Despite the really crappy end to a pretty good week, I WILL NOT BE BROUGHT DOWN. That’s mostly because I ended up having an amazing night last night… but hey… what ever makes you happy. Right?

Quakecon is coming up. I’m trying to find a way to make the 19 hour drive to Dallas fun… I’m thinking wireless router running of an inverter in my car so we can play like StarCraft on the way there. At very least I’ll have a lot of movies and music good to go.

Now really… that wasn’t necessary…

I was supposed to go on a power plant tour today for AEP. It would have
been a nice little break from the inane (or mundane) work life I
already lead… my alarm didn’t go off. Thankfully (<== lots of
sarcasm) my body wakes itself up early anyway… so I got to see the
bus pull away in a ridiculous effort (by that I mean 90mph in a 25) to
still get there on time. So now I’m stuck at work actually working (yes
I know… poor Adam… but my day was supposed to be so much more
interesting than this). The upside to that is I won’t have to come in
after hours to run some reports I wasn’t able to do yesterday. I’m
going to dinner with Tara and Matthew tonight… so being here late
would have been a bad thing.

As much fun as breaking through
AEP’s security was… since I told security about it they decided to
scan my computer and send a pleasant (read horrifying) email to my
manager. I’m not in any trouble (I think/pray) since I told everyone
about it, but it really wasn’t necessary to press the panic button
AFTER I gave them a 14 page document describing my actions. Maybe they
were just sore they didn’t catch me on their own. Unfortunately,
because of this little fire drill, I”m not even allowed to listen to my
music anymore… which I suppose serves me right for breaking AEP’s
rules in the first place.

I really need to stop talking to people about some things. Yes, my own feelings are just being echoed back to me, but still… morals and ethics tend to get in the way (see post from July 18th…).
