I almost died…
What a beautiful end to finals I had… I left from Keith’s yesterday morning at about 8:30a to try and surprise Theresa and close to 30 minutes from home I got into an accident at 70mph. I’m ok… but it could have been really bad. I was passing Rt.3 on E76 in the left lane and a van started to merge into me (she says there was a truck about to take off her front end bumper, which is certainly reasonable). When I saw her coming I didn’t have much time to do anything so I hit my brakes and tried to swing out to the left. She ended up catching the hind quarter of my car and made me fish tail down the highway. I checked on coming traffic for fear that if I crossed the median I wouldn’t be here to say anything about it. Sure enough there was a semi coming so when the fish tail got really bad I held the skid down the highway as long as I could so I could pass the truck. The skid took me into the median and my car lost all traction and turned me 90 degrees… so I was sliding sideways down the median probably at 50mph now… that was interesting. When I started to slow down my car started forward motion again and took me across the 3 lanes of traffic on the westbound side of the highway. I tried to cut the wheel to avoid the side of the high way but my tires were lined with mud and I couldn’t get any traction to turn and had to put the car in a the ditch on the side of the highway to avoid traffic. From where I was… my car being half in the air… I couldn’t tell what happened to the van and it wasn’t exactly safe to exit my car so I called E911 right away… Since the other driver couldn’t see any movement in my car she did the same… we ended up getting 2 heavy rescue, 2 ambulances, and a police officer… lots of lights.
Of course my car was full of all my belongings from my house so the accident made shit fly everywhere. I have yet to check any of my computers… I’m actually afraid to… that could be really depressing. But I did get A’s in two classes I was pretty sure I wouldn’t… so I guess things balance out in the end… right?
Good to hear you arent dead.
