Simply put… the most fantastic spring break, or even vacation, I’ve ever taken. I’ll have pictures up on my facebook as soon as I get them from everyone else. The weather was awesome, the house was incredible, the beach calming, and the people amazing (save a few, but what would expect with 14 people). Not sure what else I can say except I got a wonderful surprise when I finally got home… Theresa was on my steps waiting for me.

My finals are done and the feeling is good. Econ and Chem went very well. History wasn’t as clean, but I think I did well. I also got one of the best compliments I’ve gotten in years today (yesterday). I asked my History TA when she thought she might have our papers graded. Her reply was, “Oh, well, I put yours at the bottom so I would have a treat when I was done.” That made me smile.

I probably won’t be updating for more than a week so my plans are as follows:
Tomorrow (today) , I’m meeting Theresa for lunch. She’s actually taking me out to eat which is a “nice” change. Although I’m not so used to not paying. I’m not sure what I’m doing in the afternoon, but my dad is going to take Theresa and I out to dinner, Andy might be coming too.
Thursday , Theresa and I will probably spend the day at my Mom’s, or at least part of it since Theresa needs to go shopping with her dad for wood. Thursday evening I’m apparently engaged to meet some friends of Theresa’s at a bar in Falls.
Friday , no idea what I’m doing but around 4 I’ll be leaving for Columbus. Keith and Mr. Martin have invited me to an overnight event at GBC Powell which actually sounds like a good bit of fun.
Saturday , I’m meeting Mike, Jake, and Red at Mike’s parents for a leisurely afternoon and dinner. And late Saturday night/Sunday morning we’ll be leaving for the Outer Banks for a week.

To say the least, I am quite thrilled.

“Ask and you shall receive.”

Patience is not something I am known for…

My panicked emails got someone’s attention and my recruiter contacted me. I will be living in North Carolina about 30 minutes from Raleigh hopefully working in security and automated networks. Hooray for me. Although, the distance from my family and Theresa will be saddening.

Finals are here… I am stressed yet again… only 2 more to go then I’m free for almost 2 weeks.

I am annoyed…

Two weeks ago, interviewed with Cisco Systems for a summer internship. The interview went very well and on Monday I was officially offered an internship at my choice of 4 locations and any number of research groups. I was told that I would be getting an email to confirm everything and give me details, but I have yet to get such an email. My window to accept the internship is also closing quickly and I have no way of contacting my recruiter since she assured me that her information would be in the email. I also have no idea who I can contact to even begin to find the right person.

This week needs to be over… unfortunately, the next one is going to begin with finals at 730a Monday morning. I’ve felt very stretched this week and I don’t know why. Classes were pretty much done last week and minus an assignment or two due I haven’t had a lot to do. Theresa was sick this week so I was running around trying to help her, but I was happy to do that. Something is just causing my stress level to triple this week and my mind and body are feeling it. Perhaps tomorrow will bring me a brighter day.

“Something tells me I’m into something good…”

I have had just about the most fantastic week possible… despite lots of driving, my car nearly exploding, and very aggravating car people.

Thursday – Theresa and I went to dinner with Tara and Matthew.
Friday –  Theresa and I went to dinner with Brian, Betsy, Ben and Hannah. Very interesting group I must say. I hadn’t met Hannah yet so that was very nice and it was good to see the rest of them again. I really don’t think anything can really match the combined whit of Brian, Ben, and myself (whether that be matching stupidity or intelligence is up to the ladies).
Saturday – Really the only black spot of the week. My car decided the night before to overheat after 5 miles of driving so I spent the morning trying to find places to check my car. Of course I called ahead as to not unduly injure my vehicle, but the first place I called made it sound like they could help me immediately but told me when I got there I would have to wait 6 hours. The second place I called told me I could bring my car in after 45 minutes and get serviced but told me I’d have to wait 4 hours and probably leave my car overnight when I got there. Normally I wouldn’t have minded the waits, but I had Theresa with me and I didn’t want to bore her for the day. I finally decided to drive out towards Sawmill so I could be in short driving distance of Tara so I could easily drop my car off… My car stalled as soon as I got off the exit… The service center told me I likely warped a piston or cracked a manifold. Turns out when I had my thermostat replaced last fall they didn’t refill the engine block with coolant… wanna guess what that does? Theresa and I were already going to Tara’s for dinner with my dad, so it worked out. As a thanks for picking me up, I prepared the chicken for dinner (which turned out really well). After dinner, we went out to see The Bridge to Tarabithia. I don’t see it winning any Oscars, but it is a fantastic story and very moving.
Sunday – Theresa and I spent the night at my sisters and I made breakfast for everyone in the morning after which we went to Magic Mountain for the afternoon. Matthew was being rotten for most of the day, but it was a lot of fun.

Too much detail Ben?
